SUPPLEMENT EDITION 2008/2009

What is the Supplement Catalogue Edition?

We have decided on a one-time temporary solution to print a supplement to the present Handbook for Sports Equipment 2007/2008. Normally, we would have published an updated catalogue 2008/2009 by August this year. Instead of this updated version the supplement edition will be available until the fully revised Handbook 2009 gets published (approx. by March 2009). Thank you for your understanding.

Company Profile

History / Erhard Sport International from its beginning

1880
On August 24 Leonhard Erhard founds a decorations and wallpaper store with saddlery in the ancient city of Rothenburg o.d.T./Germany.

1919
The sons of Leonhard Erhard take over the store under the name „Leonhard Erhard Sons“. The key objective of this company, being run as a partnership, is the manufacture of sports gear, particularly the production of hand-sewn leather sports balls, such as footballs (soccer balls) as well as goods like belts, bags, backpacks, suitcases, etc.

1930
Hans Erhard, the grandson of Leonhard Erhard, joins the enterprise as a junior partner and organizes the transition to an industrial operation with a staff of 120 workers at the outbreak of World War II.

1946
After the company‘s total destruction during the war in 1945, Christian and Hans Erhard start rebuilding the enterprise at the original location in Rothenburg.

1955
After the early death of Hans Erhard the company is runned by his father Christian Erhard and Hanny Erhard, the widow of the deceased, as her three children are still too young for taking over responsibility.

1961
The kids of Hans Erhard and their mother run the business and start to equip sport halls.

1972
The plant is partly moved to an industrial estate in Rothenburg. In 1976, following the extension of their production facilities, all remaining company sections still located in the old town centre of Rothenburg are shifted to the new site too.

1990
The steady development of the organization requires an enlargment of the existing site. A perfect estate is found in Burgbernheim (15 km away from Rothenburg), to produce sport equipment of wood, metal, plastic material and leather. The production site covers 10,000 square meters.

2002
The premises are expanded by a new 1,000 sqm hall accomodating warehouse and shipping. In 2004, the new ESS (Erhard Sport Studio) training and information centre becomes part of the new facilities.

2006
ERHARD SPORT INTERNATIONAL is one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of sport equipment with more than 12.000 articles. The branches in North-west and East Germany, as well as in Hungary and France provide a close link to its customers. In addition, partners in many european countries support the distribution of high quality ERHARD products.

Upholstery / Sewing Room – Quality Products made in Germany

After 40 years of school use a vaulting buck came back to us. According to customer request this vaulting buck needed to be furnished with the latest synthetic hooves, and the slightly loose legs had to be tightended. The padding of this vaulting buck as well as the leather cover were in the same shape like when the item was sold.
As the vaulting buck was sent to us – in absolute fully functional condition – it can be seen in our warehouse as proof of high quality and longevity of our items.

The gymnastic mat production with saddlery, upholstery and sewing room covers 1.200 sqm of our production facility in Burgbernheim which is also unique in our industry. Moreover, we are also one of the very few corporations in our industry which train the occupational field of saddler.

Are we still supplying the same quality like back then? No, now its even better!
